Glennmont Partners has completed the sale of Gruig (25 MW) and Todmorden Moor (12.5 MW) wind farms to Foresight Group, a leading global infrastructure and private equity investment manager.
The announcement follows Glennmont’s sale of Gortahile wind farm to Greencoat Renewables PLC, which was completed earlier this month. The sale of the three wind farms means that Glennmont has now divested its portfolio of UK and Irish wind assets.
The Gruig wind farm, located in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, began generating in 2009 and comprises 10 Nordex N80/2500kW turbines. Todmorden Moor wind farm, located in West Yorkshire, was commissioned in 2014 and is powered by five Nordex N90/2500kW turbines. Both wind projects are currently operated by RES Group.
Joost Bergsma, CEO and Managing Partner at Glennmont Partners, said:
“We are delighted to complete the sale of both Gruig and Todmorden Moor wind farms to Foresight. The sale of our remaining UK wind assets reinforces Glennmont’s reputation for providing stable, predictable returns on investment in clean energy infrastructure, and underlines our continued success in divesting from Fund I.
Onshore wind represents a key strategic market for Glennmont. Our team’s unique blend of expertise in operations and asset management will ensure that we continue to identify and secure further value from onshore wind investments across the European Economic Area (EEA).”
